The rain has not stopped since yesterday. All the way to Dungun it was raining but not heavy..just a drizzle.Hence we stopped for a snack at Penarik...then click..click at Terengganu China Town. Along the beach near Uitm Dungun ,we saw that part of the road was swept away by the waves.

After leaving one of the twins in Dungun , we headed back to Kuala Terengganu. All the way it rains.. this time not a drizzle but light shower.

After dropping the other twins in Uitm Chendering we (me and my daughter nadia) set off for home.... sripekan in Pasir Puteh.

All the way home it rains...this time not a drizzle nor light shower but heavy rain. On reaching home we found that Pasir Puteh town was flooded. Alhamdulillah, we reached home to the countdown to 2012. Well.. there is no firework in Pasir Puteh to welcome in the New Year.

Telah diramalkan bahawa Nov dan Dis tahun ini kebanyak tempat dalam negara akan mengelami banjir besar. Namun masih ramai mengadakan majlis kenduri kahwin pada musim cuti sekolah ini.Untuk memudahkan kebanyakan majlis diadakan di dewan.

Pada 3 dan 4 Dis kami warga sripekan menghadiri majlis perkahwinan anak sepupu di Kuantan Pahang.

Aidil adha atau hari raya korban tahun ini disambut pada 6 nov 2011. Aidil adha kami dimulai dgn sembahyang raya di Masjid ar Rahman, Taman Sri Gedombak.

Mohd Naqeeb Aryan turut serta bersembahyang raya...belum habis kutbah raya dah mulai bising...

syukur alhamdulillah...kecil2 dah dibiasakan dgn masjid.semuga menjadi anak yang soleh...insyaAllah...

selepas sembahyang raya kami ke tempat korban,saya membeli satu bahagian dari tujuh bahagian untuk ibadah korban.

daging korban dipotong2 untuk di sedekahkan....

20 ramadhan kami berbuka puasa di persisiran pantai Dungun.Kes nya menghantar anakanda balik ke asrama setelah bercuti hujung minggu di rumah.

Sewaktu sampai 6:30 ptg,tuan restoran kata'kak bolih dok mana2 meja yang tak de tissu..'. hanya ada beberapa meja tanpa tissu.

minuman dah sampai...kami ada karipap dan kek coklat kalau makanan lambat..

just nice ...makanan sampai hampir waktu berbuka....

KUALA LUMPUR 14 Ogos – Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) hari ini secara rasmi mengumumkan mengambil alih tugas Pas untuk menjadi benteng mempertahankan kesucian agama Islam.

Presidennya, Datuk Ibrahim Ali berkata, keputusan tersebut terpaksa dibuat walaupun badan itu bukan pertubuhan politik kerana Pas yang selama ini mendakwa parti Islam dan pernah bercita-cita mahu menubuhkan negara Islam, gagal berbuat demikian.

Menurut Ibrahim, sejak bekerjasama dengan DAP dan Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Pas tidak lagi mementingkan soal agama, sebaliknya apa yang dikejar oleh parti itu adalah undi, sehingga sanggup membisu dan menghalalkan apa sahaja perbuatan yang dilakukan oleh musuh Islam.

‘‘Perkasa dengan rasminya mulai hari ini akan mengambil alih tugas Pas dalam membela dan mempertahankan agama Islam. Ini kerana Pas sekarang bukan lagi sebuah parti yang berteraskan Islam. Ia sanggup menghalalkan apa sahaja demi undi.

“Walaupun Perkasa bukan sebuah parti tetapi kami memutuskan untuk mengambil tanggungjawab tersebut kerana dewasa ini kesucian agama Islam sedang diancam dari pelbagai sudut oleh musuh-musuh agama,” katanya kepada pemberita, di sini hari ini.

Antara bukti Pas memperjudikan agama demi ‘membeli’ undi adalah tindakan Mursyidul Amnya, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat menyokong keputusan kerajaan DAP Pulau Pinang melarang penggunaan pembesar suara untuk bacaan al-Quran dan kuliah agama di masjid.

Pada masa sama, beliau berkata, Nik Abdul Aziz serta pucuk pimpinan Pas sehingga sekarang juga gagal menyatakan pendirian menyokong tindakan Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) memeriksa Gereja Methodist Damansara Utama yang dikatakan cuba memurtadkan 12 individu Islam.

Mayor crushes illegally parked car with tank

The mayor of Vilnius, in Lithuania, has an aggressive way of cracking down on illegal parking… and has released a video demonstrating his non-nonsense approach.

In the hilarious footage, which has swiftly gone viral, publicity hungry Arturas Zuokas finds a Mercedes illegally parked in a cycle lane.

Rather than simply issuing a ticket, the smiling mayor runs it over with a soviet-era armoured personnel carrier.

After completely crushing the flash motor, a delighted Zuokas then sweeps up the debris himself, before cycling away on a bike.

He says in the video: "In the past few days, expensive cars have been illegally parked in almost this exact place - a Rolls-Royce and a Ferrari.

"What should the city do about drivers who think that they are above the law? It seems that a tank is the best solution."

Apparently the car didn't belong to a real driver, and was instead bought specifically for the publicity stunt. Nonetheless, we reckon the drivers of Vilnius will think twice before stopping in a cycle lane again.

7 Things Your Husband Wants to Tell You

While you may not buy into the idea that men are from Mars and women are from Venus, when it comes to communication, men and women do express themselves in different ways. “For women, the purpose of communication is most often to relate; for men, it’s usually to share information,” says Karen Gail Lewis, EdD, relationship therapist and author of Why Don’t You Understand? So while it may seem to you that he disregards your feelings, he might be wishing like crazy you would just tell him what you want. Read on to learn seven things your husband wants to tell you in order to help bridge the communication gap.

1. A small "thank-you" makes a huge difference.
You might think, “I do plenty around here, so why do I have to say 'thank you' whenever he pitches in?” But he probably doesn't agree: “I’d cook, clean, do the dishes and laundry much more happily if my wife said ‘thank you’ more often,” says James.* Just like you, he needs appreciation and, yes, a little ego-stroking. “Studies have shown that happy couples give compliments often. Offering a simple ‘thank-you’ is an easy way to show appreciation and make him feel significant,” says Todd Creager, licensed marriage therapist and author of The Long, Hot Marriage.

2. I’m more likely to offer you concrete advice than a shoulder to cry on.
When you come home from work and start complaining to your husband about your demanding boss, to him it sounds like you’re asking for help—even if all you want is a sympathetic ear. Dave* encounters this often: “The other day my wife was venting about a problem. Every time I came up with a solution or suggestion she would interrupt and dismiss it. She thinks I’m telling her what to do, or implying that she can’t think of solutions on her own.” Know that when he gives you advice for handling that bad boss or overbearing sister-in-law, “that’s how he shows that he cares,” says Dr. Lewis. Try not to confuse his advice with criticism, but don’t be shy about telling him, “You know, I’ve tried that, too. I think what I really need now is to just vent!”

3. If you want a chore done by a certain day, tell me that.
You asked him four times to fix the wobbly cabinet door to no avail, so your complaints about him not doing it seem justified. “My wife does this all the time. I know I have things on my mental to-do list that she wants me to handle, and I will! But unless she tells me it’s urgent, I’m going to get to it when I can,” says Don.* When he hears you ask for a task or chore to be done, all he’s hearing is that you want it done—not that you want it done based on a time line you've set but haven't shared with him, says Dr. Lewis. “He wishes you knew that he’d be very happy to fix whatever you want fixed, so long as you’re specific: ‘It would be great if you got that cabinet door fixed by the time my parents arrive on Sunday.’”

4. Tell me directly what’s bothering you.
Since human beings lived in caves, men have probably sat around bewildered by their mates’ fluctuating moods, wondering why she won’t just say, “I’m pissed off at you because...” instead of, “I’m fine” through clenched teeth. The thing is, he knows there’s something wrong, thanks to the exaggerated sighing and stomping around. “You may think you’re not communicating, but you are. What you feel is being transmitted,” says Creager, just not in a healthy way. The key is to express it directly––“I’m upset that you came home and went straight to the computer”––rather than being passive-aggressive.

5. Please don’t ask me how you look in that dress.
First of all, there’s no right answer to a question like, “Do these pants make me look fat?” Then there are the times you ask his opinion even though you’ve already made up your mind: “My wife seems to ask things like ‘Should I buy that dress?’ to confirm her choice, not to get my real opinion. And if she asks me how she looks in a dress, I know well enough to say ‘I love it!’ no matter what I really think,” says Alex.* So either don’t ask at all, or be specific, advises Dr. Lewis. “Ask him, ‘Do you think these shoes match this dress?’” And definitely think before you ask things like “Does my butt look big in this skirt?” If you want a blanket “You look great to me all the time, honey!” then you’re fine as long as your husband's willing to play along. But if it’s honesty you’re after, be careful what you wish for.

6. I wish you didn’t think we had to talk all the time to be close.
You both get home from work, or finally get the kids into bed, and then you just sit there watching television. You call this togetherness? The truth is that he does, even if to you, it’s not “being together” unless you’re actively having a conversation. “The silence in the room, and just your presence, feels like closeness to a man,” says Dr. Lewis. “He doesn’t necessarily need, as you might, to be engaged in conversation in order to feel connected to you.” So every now and then, reach out and squeeze his hand, and if you want to talk, say so––but don’t assume that silence equals lack of interest.

7. I wish you wanted sex more.
You may be thinking that your hubby always wants sex, but what you don’t understand is that by rejecting him you’re making him wonder what he’s doing wrong. “Many men think, ‘I must not be so good at it,’” says Dr. Lewis. It’s not just about his needs; it’s also about pleasing you. “Both men and women want to feel intimate with each other, and what women need to understand is that men often derive intimacy from sex––whereas oftentimes women need intimacy in order to have sex. So talk about what you both really want, and find compromises that work for you," she adds. And if you are in the mood? Act on it! He'll not only love that you initiated it, but also appreciate feeling desired by you.

KUALA LUMPUR, 15 Julai — Susulan perhimpunan 9 Julai, Prof Madya Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin berkata Barisan Nasional (BN) perlu membuang pemikiran feudal jika mahu terus mendapat sokongan rakyat terutamanya dalam menghadapi pilihan raya umum ke-13.

Jelas bekas mufti Perlis, dalam kepimpinan BN terlaku ramai “golongan pengampu” berbanding golongan yang boleh membantu parti perikatan untuk terus dilihat relevan dalam arena politik sekarang.

“Dalam pemerintah sekarang semua orang nak tunjuk kononnya dia setia (kepada pemerintah) walaupun kenyataan yang dikeluarkan adalah bodoh, tapi dia rasa tidak mengapa yang penting perdana menteri tahu.

“Dalam Umno bila ada pemimpin bagi kritikan, dia ini dianggap musuh walaupun idea yang diberikan adalah baik, namun ia dianggap bahaya kerana unsur feudal tidak ditinggalkan,” katanya dalam satu program anjuran Kementerian Pengajian Tinggi di ibu negara malam tadi.

The heaven has always provided us with good natural herbs as our medicine......
let's share it with all whom we know.

Cinnamon and Honey
Honey is the only food on the planet that will not spoil or rot. It will do
what some call turning to sugar. In reality honey is always honey.. However,
when left in a cool dark place for a long time it will do what I rather call
"crystallizing" . When this happens I loosen the lid, boil some water, and
sit the honey container in the hot water,turn off the heat and let it
liquefy. It is then as good as it ever was. Never boil honey or put it in a
microwave. To do so will kill the enzymes in the honey.

Cinnamon and Honey
Bet the drug companies won't like this one getting around. Facts on Honey and
Cinnamon: It is found that a mixture of honey and Cinnamon cures most
diseases.. Honey is produced in most of the countries of the world.
Scientists of today also accept honey as a 'Ram Ban' (very effective) medicine
for all kinds of diseases. Honey can be used without any side effects for any
kind of diseases.

Today's science says that even though honey is sweet, if taken in the right
dosage as a medicine, it does not harm diabetic patients. Weekly World News,
a magazine in Canada , in its issue dated 17 January,1995 has given the
following list of diseases that can be cured by honey and cinnamon as
researched by western scientists:

HEART DISEASES:
Make a paste of honey and cinnamon powder, apply on bread, instead of jelly
and jam, and eat it regularly for breakfast. It reduces the cholesterol in the
arteries and saves the patient from heart attack. Also, those who have
already had an attack, if they do this process daily, they are kept miles
away from the next attack. Regular use of the above process relieves loss of
breath and strengthens the heart beat. In America and Canada , various
nursing homes have treated patients successfully and have found that as you
age, the arteries and veins lose their flexibility and get clogged; honey and
cinnamon revitalize the arteries and veins.

ARTHRITIS:
Arthritis patients may take daily, morning and night, one cup of hot water
with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder. If taken
regularly even chronic arthritis can be cured. In a recent research conducted
at the Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their
patients with a mixture of one tablespoon Honey and half teaspoon Cinnamon
powder before breakfast, they found that within a week, out of the 200 people
so treated, practically 73 patients were totally relieved of pain, and within
a month, mostly all the patients who could not walk or move around because of
arthritis started walking without pain.

BLADDER INFECTIONS:
Take two tablespoons of cinnamon powder and one teaspoon of honey in a glass
of lukewarm water and drink it. It destroys the germs in the bladder.

CHOLESTEROL:
Two tablespoons of honey and three teaspoons of Cinnamon Powder mixed in 16
ounces of tea water, given to a cholesterol patient, was found to reduce the
level of cholesterol in the blood by 10 percent within two hours. As
mentioned for arthritic patients, if taken three times a day, any chronic
cholesterol is cured. According to information received in the said Journal,
pure honey taken with food daily relieves complaints of cholesterol.

COLDS:
Those suffering from common or severe colds should take one tablespoon
lukewarm honey with 1/4 spoon cinnamon powder daily for three days. This
process will cure most chronic cough, cold, and clear the sinuses.

UPSET STOMACH:
Honey taken with cinnamon powder cures stomach ache and also clears stomach
ulcers from the root.

GAS:
According to the studies done in India and Japan , it is revealed that if
Honey is taken with cinnamon powder the stomach is relieved of gas.

IMMUNE SYSTEM:
Daily use of honey and cinnamon powder strengthens the immune system and
protects the body from bacteria and viral attacks.. Scientists have found that
honey has various vitamins and iron in large amounts. Constant use of Honey
strengthens the white blood corpuscles to fight bacterial and viral diseases.

INDIGESTION:
Cinnamon powder sprinkled on two tablespoons of honey taken before food
relieves acidity and digests the heaviest of meals.

INFLUENZA:
A scientist in Spain has proved that honey contains a natural ' Ingredient'
which kills the influenza germs and saves the patient from flu..

LONGEVITY:
Tea made with honey and cinnamon powder, when taken regularly, arrests the

and three cups of water and boil to make like tea. Drink 1/4 cup, three to

water. If taken regularly, it reduces the weight of even the most obese
person. Also, drinking this mixture regularly does not allow the fat to
accumulate in the body even though the person may eat a high calorie diet.

CANCER:
Recent research in Japan and Australia has revealed that advanced cancer of
the stomach and bones have been cured successfully. Patients suffering from
these kinds of cancer should daily take one tablespoon of honey with one
teaspoon of cinnamon powder for one month three times a day.

FATIGUE:
Recent studies have shown that the sugar content of honey is more helpful
rather than being detrimental to the strength of the body. Senior citizens,
who take honey and cinnamon powder in equal parts, are more alert and
flexible. Dr. Milton, who has done research, says that a half tablespoon of
honey taken in a glass of water and sprinkled with cinnamon powder, taken
daily after brushing and in the afternoon at about 3:00 P.M. when the vitality
of the body starts to decrease, increases the vitality of the body within a
week.

BAD BREATH:
People of South America , first thing in the morning, gargle with one
teaspoon of honey and cinnamon powder mixed in hot water, so their breath
stays fresh throughout the day.

1 Malaysia email users must sign up with USB device, NRD offices

KUALA LUMPUR, April 26 — Those signing up for the controversial 1 Malaysia email service will have to buy a USB biometric device sold by Tricubes Bhd or go to any National Registration Department (NRD) office to get their account activated, the company said today.

Tricubes chief executive Khairun Zainal Mokhtar said the USB device would also allow myemail.my users opt for the more secure end-to-end data encryption for an additional fee, which he described as "a fraction of the cost".

But he declined to provide the price of this value-added service and the USB biometric reader.

Basic account holders will still be able to send free emails that are encrypted with the commonly used Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol during transport, Khairun Zainal added.

"Our default setting is a basic Secure Sockets Layer, which is quite secure," he told reporters here.

"Even with the friendly emails, and without the billing, everything is through SSL. Users can also send personal emails to their friends and it would be completely free."

Khairun Zainal said earlier that those who wish to send emails to myemail.my accounts will have to pay a maximum of 50 sen an email, adding that Tricubes aims to sign up 5.4 million users by year-end.

The 1 Malaysia email service is expected to be launched by July.

The Malaysian Insider understands that Tricubes is pinning its hopes on the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) and Internal Revenue Board (IRB) to sustain the service through pension and tax notifications.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has said that the 1 Malaysia e-mail project will have a gross national income (GNI) impact of RM39 million up to 2015 and will allow direct and secure communications between Malaysian citizens and the government.

But critics say the government should focus on infrastructure project such as providing clean water or broadband across the country rather than working on a free email service which is already available through Hotmail, Yahoo! and Google Inc.

Detractors also question why loss-making Tricubes, at risk of being delisted after its weak financial standing triggered Bursa Malaysia Securities' Guidance Note 3 (GN3) in October last year, was tapped to spearhead the project.

Tricubes has said it is collaborating with Hotmail service owner Microsoft Corp for the project but provided no details.

PUTRAJAYA 2 April - Dianggarkan RM108 bilion yang sepatutnya menjadi pendapatan negara setiap tahun lesap manakala lebih RM10 bilion lagi dipindahkan secara haram ke luar negara. Kerugian itu dikesan hasil siasatan Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) ke atas kegiatan rasuah dan penyalahgunaan kuasa melibatkan pegawai Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia (JKDM) di seluruh negara. Pengarah Bahagian Siasatan SPRM, Datuk Mustafar Ali berkata, angka kerugian itu dianggarkan akibat aktiviti pemindahan wang secara haram melalui beberapa cara termasuk taksiran kurang, transaksi tanpa rekod serta penyeludupan wang. "Akibat tindakan 'tangan-tangan kotor' ini, negara mengalami kerugian apabila hasil pendapatan lesap manakala wang rasuah yang diperolehi mereka dipindahkan secara haram ke luar negara. "Berikutan itu, SPRM mengadakan 'Operasi 3b' iaitu sasaran kita mengembalikan semula RM3 bilion hasil pendapatan negara yang lesap," katanya pada sidang akhbar di sini hari ini. Mustafar berkata, hasil operasi itu, sebanyak 62 orang pegawai JKDM telah ditahan dan sejumlah RM602 juta wang dibekukan, selain RM382 juta disita manakala RM31.2 juta dilucut hak harta. "Kita siasat semua kes dan tangkapan ini di bawah Akta Pencegahan Pengubahan Wang Haram dan Pembiayaan Pengganas 2001 dan kes-kes yang telah dibawa ke mahkamah melibatkan wang berjumlah RM1.2 bilion," katanya.

62 pegawai JKDM ditahan - SPRM

PUTRAJAYA 2 April - Suruhanjaya Pencegahan Rasuah Malaysia (SPRM) menahan seramai 62 pegawai Jabatan Kastam Diraja Malaysia (JKDM) kerana terlibat dalam aktiviti pengubahan wang haram serta pelbagai kesalahan lain dalam 'Operasi 3b' yang diadakan sepanjang minggu ini. Mereka terdiri daripada 53 lelaki dan sembilan perempuan berusia antara 24 hingga 53 tahun. Daripada jumlah itu, seramai 17 pegawai termasuk seorang yang berpangkat pengarah masih direman manakala selebihnya dibebaskan atas jaminan. Pengarah Bahagian Siasatan SPRM, Datuk Mustafar Ali berkata, penahanan itu membolehkan pihaknya membongkar pelbagai aktiviti mencurigakan membabitkan pegawai pasukan penguat kuasa itu. Menurut beliau, antara pembongkaran yang ditemui adalah terdapat pegawai yang memiliki kereta mewah, jam tangan buatan emas, jongkong emas serta menyimpan wang tunai yang banyak. Beliau mendedahkan, seorang pegawai kanan berpangkat pengarah memiliki wang tunai RM65,000 yang ditemui berselerakan dalam rumahnya dan memiliki RM2.1 juta dan RM500,000 dalam dua akaun berasingan. "Selain itu, kami turut menemui berkotak-kotak bunga api dan mercun serta rokok-rokok kretek di rumah pengarah tersebut," katanya pada sidang akhbar di sini hari ini. Operasi 3B tersebut diadakan dengan kerjasama Bank Negara Malaysia dan Lembaga Hasil Dalam Negeri untuk membongkar aktiviti pegawai kastam di pelabuhan yang meminta dan menerima wang rasuah daripada ejen penghantaran. Mustafar berkata, terdapat juga pegawai mengaku menerima RM100 untuk setiap borang pengisytiharan duti K1 yang diproses dalam tempoh lima bulan yang lalu. Beliau berkata, SPRM turut menemui wang simpanan sebanyak RM850,000 dalam sebuah akaun serta simpanan Amanah Saham Bumiputera bernilai RM200,000. "Selain pegawai yang menerima RM10,000 setiap bulan, kami turut mendapati ada pegawai yang memakai kenderaan mewah Toyota Estima walaupun gaji mereka tidak tinggi. "Turut dijumpai dalam operasi adalah lima ketul jongkong emas bernilai RM50,000, jam tangan mewah yang dibuat daripada emas, dua pucuk pistol tiruan dan 241 butir peluru," katanya. Mustafar berkata, operasi telah dilakukan di lima pelabuhan utama iaitu di Pelabuhan Klang, Kuantan, Pulau Pinang, Tanjung Pelepas dan Pasir Gudang. Tangkapan paling banyak berlaku di Pelabuhan Klang.

Part 1... mostly happy di awal-awal bulan,pertengahan nya agak suspen dan menakutkan kerana rmh jiran sebelah dinaiki perompak yang bersenjatakan parang...kemudian agak sedih kerana mak dimasukkan ke hospital kerana sakit jantung.

Part 2...agak mengujakan dengan kembara ke Cambodia ya itu ke bandar Siem Reap dan ibu kota Phnom Penh...Di Phnom Penh sesuatu telah berlaku yang menyebabkan sedikit kerugian...dari itu apabila ke negara2 dunia ke3 hendaklah lebih berhati2 dengan barang2 milik kita....

Oohhh lupa hari jadi tahun ni berlalu tanpa diraikan...(hahaha telah melepasi setengah abad..) syukur alhamdulillah kerana dipanjangkan usia..dimurahkan rezeki dan dikurniakan kesihatan yang baik.

Year 2011 starts with me on my feet on the very very 1st day.We had lunch with my inlaws and my son's in laws. For lunch we had ikan patin masak tempoyak...and not forgetting ulam and budu.

Some time ago, I attended a Breast Cancer Awareness seminar and I asked why the
most common area for Breast Cancer was near the armpit.

My question could not be answered at that time.

This e-mail was just sent to me, and I find it interesting that my question has been answered.

I challenge you all to rethink your every day use of a product that could ultimately lead to a terminal illness.

BOGOTA (AFP) - – A Boeing 737 crash-landed Monday on a Colombian resort island during a lightning storm, scattering passengers across the runway as it split in three, but somehow only one passenger died.

A 73-year-old woman suffered a heart attack and died in hospital, but officials said it was a "miracle" there were no more fatalities among the 130 survivors, most of whom suffered some kind of injury.

The plane was struck by lightning 80 meters (250 feet) above the tarmac at Gustavo Rojas Pinilla airport on the Caribbean island of San Andres, aviation officials said, but the cause of the crash was still under investigation.

Passengers were "literally scattered over the end of the runway," a police statement said. The authorities later put the number of injured at more than 120, five of them seriously.

There were at least 16 foreigners on board the Boeing 737-300, including six French, four Brazilians, four Americans and two Costa Ricans.

"We all felt the plane was arriving very, very quickly on the tarmac," 28-year-old Virginie Giroux, one of the French passengers, told AFP.

"We did not feel the contact with the ground. We just saw everything flying, everything bursting in the plane."

Giroux and other passengers said the flight had been without incident and with little turbulence until moments before the crash.

"Suddenly we saw some light and felt thunder and then it was chaos," said one of the Brazilians, Katherine Lobo.

Orlando Paez Baron, director of civil security from Colombia's national police, said the pilot had briefly lost control of the aircraft but showed skill in keeping the plane on the runway.

"The impact dislodged the plane's motors and it split into three pieces," Baron said in a radio interview.

The plane, belonging to Colombia's Aires airline, left Bogota shortly after midnight (0500 GMT) and crashed in San Andres in conditions of reduced visibility about two hours later, according to air traffic controllers.

San Andres's governor Pedro Gallardo said it was only good fortune that prevented there being more casualties among the 131 people on board.

"We thank God for the miracle granted to this archipelago," he told national radio. "The captain, the co-pilot and all the crew are safe."

Gallardo was full of praise for rescuers who rushed to the scene and helped load the injured into police cars, ambulances, even taxis to get them to local hospitals.

"They went immediately to the site and responded in a fantastic way, as if it was a routine operation," the governor said.

Donald Tascon, deputy director of Colombia's Civil Aviation, said investigators were on their way to the Caribbean island.

Based on the preliminary reports, experts suggested a sharp change in wind direction or an air pocket linked to the lightning that struck the plane near the ground could have caused the crash.

Forgotten Sg Lembing....

Last July was a bit hectic..what with the twins 24 hours calling calling..wedding invitation...new babies in the family..now I'm looking forward to peaceful ramadhan.

On the 23rd July we went to KL, on the way stopped at Kuala Krai for Aisyah Amani and Airis Batrisya's bercukur ceremony. Later in the afternoon we continued our way and stopped again for durian at Raub.

In KL we had late nite coffee at Rasta Tmn Tun with Massy n family. Sunday off to Port Dickson for Hani's wedding reception at Avillion Port Dickson. The next day after posing posing around Avillion we took off to Kuantan. On reaching Kuantan we went to Sg Lembing...Sg Lembing..the last time i was there was about 30 years ago for an officemate's wedding. Sad to say there was no improvement or development in Sg Lembing...

The detour to Sg lembing was to visit Ladang Rusa in Sg Jin. Hopefully this Ladang Rusa will attract alot of patrons to Sg Lembing. The owner planned to convert this ladang rusa (formerly owned by pejabat haiwan pahang) into an eco tourism spot where you can hunt for deer, play paint ball, flying fox...

This bridge is forever immersed during the rainy season...

This time we detour to see the Air port and the crumbling stadium. Why did the stadium tumble down??

18 Memory Tricks You Need to Know

Can't remember where you put your glasses? Blanked on your new colleague's name? "Forgetting these types of things is a sign of how busy we are," says Zaldy S. Tan, MD, director of the Memory Disorders Clinic at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. "When we're not paying good attention, the memories we form aren't very robust, and we have a problem retrieving the information later."

The key, says Harry Lorayne, author of Ageless Memory: Simple Secrets for Keeping Your Brain Young, is to get your brain in shape. "We exercise our bodies, but what good is that great body if you don't have the mental capabilities to go with it?" Sure, you could write everything down, keep organized lists and leave electronic notes on your BlackBerry, cell phone or PDA. But when you don't have access to those aids, or if you want to strengthen your brain, try these expert-recommended strategies to help you remember.

1. Pay attention. When you're introduced to someone, really listen to the person's name. Then, to get a better grasp, picture the spelling. Ask, "Is that Kathy with a K or a C?" Make a remark about the name to help lock it in ("Oh, Carpenter -- that was my childhood best friend's last name"), and use the name a few times during the conversation and when you say goodbye.

2. Visualize the name. For hard-to-remember monikers (Bentavegna, Wobbekind), make the name meaningful. For Bentavegna, maybe you think of a bent weather vane. Picture it. Then look at the person, choose an outstanding feature (bushy eyebrows, green eyes) and tie the name to the face. If Mr. Bentavegna has a big nose, picture a bent weather vane instead of his nose. The sillier the image, the better.

3. Create memorable associations. Picture Joe Everett standing atop Mount Everest. If you want to remember that Erin Curtis is the CEO of an architectural firm, imagine her curtsying in front of a large building, suggests Gini Graham Scott, PhD, author of 30 Days to a More Powerful Memory.

4. Cheat a little. Supplement these tips with some more concrete actions. When you get a business card, after the meeting, jot down a few notes on the back of the card ("red glasses, lives in Springfield, went to my alma mater") to help you out when you need a reminder.

5. Give a play-by-play. Pay attention to what you're doing as you place your glasses on the end table. Remind yourself, "I'm putting my keys in my coat pocket," so you have a clear memory of doing it, says Scott.

7. Make it a habit. Put a small basket on a side table. Train yourself to put your keys, glasses, cell phone or any other object you frequently use (or misplace) in the basket -- every time.

8. Start a ritual. To remind yourself of a chore (write a thank-you note, go to the dry cleaner), give yourself an unusual physical reminder. You expect to see your bills on your desk, so leaving them there won't necessarily remind you to pay them. But place a shoe or a piece of fruit on the stack of bills, and later, when you spot the out-of-place object, you'll remember to take care of them, says Carol Vorderman, author of Super Brain: 101 Easy Ways to a More Agile Mind.

9. Sing it. To remember a small group of items (a grocery list, phone number, list of names, to-do list), adapt it to a well-known song, says Vorderman. Try "peanut butter, milk and eggs" to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star," "Happy Birthday" or even nursery rhymes.

10. Try mnemonic devices. Many of us learned "ROY G BIV" to remember the colors of the rainbow, or "Every Good Boy Deserves Favors" to learn musical notes. Make up your own device to memorize names (Suzanne's kids are Adam, Patrick and Elizabeth, or "APE"), lists (milk, eggs, tomatoes, soda, or "METS") or computer commands (to shut down your PC, hit Control+Alt+Delete, or "CAD").

11. Use your body. When you have no pen or paper and are making a mental grocery or to-do list, remember it according to major body parts, says Scott. Start at your feet and work your way up. So if you have to buy glue, cat food, broccoli, chicken, grapes and toothpaste, you might picture your foot stuck in glue, a cat on your knee looking for food, a stalk of broccoli sticking out of your pants pocket, a chicken pecking at your belly button, a bunch of grapes hanging from your chest and a toothbrush in your mouth.

12. Go Roman. With the Roman room technique, you associate your grocery, to-do or party-invite list with the rooms of your house or the layout of your office, garden or route to work. Again, the zanier the association, the more likely you'll remember it, says Scott. Imagine apples hanging from the chandelier in your foyer, spilled cereal all over the living room couch, shampoo bubbles overflowing in the kitchen sink and cheese on your bedspread.

13. Shape your numbers. Assign a shape to each number: 0 looks like a ball or ring; 1 is a pen; 2 is a swan; 3 looks like handcuffs; 4 is a sailboat; 5, a pregnant woman; 6, a pipe; 7, a boomerang; 8, a snowman; and 9, a tennis racket. To remember your ATM PIN (4298, say), imagine yourself on a sailboat (4), when a swan (2) tries to attack you. You hit it with a tennis racket (9), and it turns into a snowman (8). Try forgetting that image!

14. Rhyme it. Think of words that rhyme with the numbers 1 through 9 (knee for 3, wine for 9, etc.). Then create a story using the rhyming words: A nun (1) in heaven (7) banged her knee (3), and it became sore (4).

15. Practice your ABCs. Say you just can't remember the name of that movie. Recite the alphabet (aloud or in your head). When you get to the letter R, it should trigger the name that's escaping you: Ratatouille. This trick works when taking tests too.

16. Read it, type it, say it, hear it. To memorize a speech, toast or test material, read your notes, then type them into the computer. Next, read them aloud and tape-record them. Listen to the recording several times. As you work on memorizing, remember to turn off the TV, unplug your iPod and shut down your computer; you'll retain more.

17. Use color. Give your notes some color with bolded headings and bulleted sections (it's easier to remember a red bullet than running text).

18. Make a map. Imagine an intersection and mentally place a word, fact or number on each street corner.

The folks at Insure.com also say that ill-advised Facebook postings increasingly can get your insurance cancelled or cause you to pay dramatically more for everything from auto to life insurance coverage. By now almost everybody knows that those drunken party photos could cost you a job, too.

You can certainly enjoy networking and sharing photos, but you should know that sharing some information puts you at risk. What should you never say on Facebook, Twitter or any other social networking site?

Your birth date and place
Sure, you can say what day you were born, but if you provide the year and where you were born too, you’ve just given identity thieves a key to stealing your financial life, said Givens. A study done by Carnegie Mellon showed that a date and place of birth could be used to predict most — and sometimes all — of the numbers in your Social Security number, she said.

Vacation plans
There may be a better way to say “Rob me, please” than posting something along the lines of: “Count-down to Maui! Two days and Ritz Carlton, here we come!” on Twitter. But it’s hard to think of one. Post the photos on Facebook when you return, if you like. But don’t invite criminals in by telling them specifically when you’ll be gone.

A study recently released by the Ponemon Institute found that users of Social Media sites were at greater risk of physical and identity theft because of the information they were sharing. Some 40% listed their home address on the sites; 65% didn’t even attempt to block out strangers with privacy settings. The Dangers of Using a Debit Card

Consumers need to be particularly careful during vacation season because identity thieves come out in droves. That makes it pivotal that consumers keep their debit cards on ice, said Beth Givens, director of the Privacy Rights Clearing House and one of the nation's foremost experts on keeping your private information private.
What makes debit cards so dangerous? Givens has so many reasons, her organization has put out an exhaustive fact sheet on whether you should use cash, credit or debit cards when shopping. (The report also explains the shortcomings of gift cards.)

Here's the short version of the dangers of debit:

1. Loss Limits
Like credit cards, federal law limits your liability for fraudulent transactions on a debit card to $50. But that's only if you notify your financial institution within two days of discovering the theft. If you're a space cadet and don't check your bank statements for a couple of months, you could lose everything.

2. Pay Now/Reimburse Later
If someone has fraudulently used your credit card, you don't have to pay the charge. But when somebody has fraudulently used your debit card, the money comes directly out of your account in real time. That means you're out the money while the bank does a leisurely examination of their records to investigate your fraud claim. Many consumers complaining to Privacy Rights Clearing House said they lost access to their funds for several weeks. In the meantime, they were caught short and unable to pay their bills, Givens said.

3. Merchant Disputes
The same problem affects merchant disputes. If you pay with a credit card when ordering something online, and that product comes damaged, broken or not at all, you can dispute the charge and stop payment with your credit card. If you used your debit card, the charge is paid when you made the order. By the time you find out the goods weren't what was advertised, the merchant has your cash and you're in the unenviable position of having to fight to get your money back.

4. Phantom Charges
If you use a credit card at a hotel, the hotel takes an imprint when you check in, but doesn't charge your card until you check out. It's a far different story with a debit card. Generally, hotels will put a “hold” on funds in your account for more than you're spending. Yes, more. They hold the full amount of your stay, plus an estimated amount for “incidentals,” such as meals at the hotel restaurant and dipping into the mini-bar. This is not an actual charge–the hold will come off your account at the end of your stay. But it affects the available balance in your checking account anyway and can lead to overdrafts. One consumer said these phantom charges cost him $140 in overdraft fees. These “holds” are commonly placed on debit card transactions made at hotels, gas stations and rental car companies.

5. Overdrafts, Overdrafts and More Overdrafts
Overdraft charges have been soaring in recent years and the vast majority of consumers who pay them explain that their overdraft was the result of a debit card transaction. Many consumers naively assumed that if they didn't have sufficient funds in their accounts, their bank wouldn't approve a debit swipe. But they were wrong. The result: a $4 coffee could trigger a $35 overdraft fee. Government regulators are reigning in these fees by demanding that banks give consumers a chance to “opt out” of automatic overdraft protection, but that doesn't start for existing accounts until August. (If you have a new account, it's starts in July.)

6. Skimming

Semalam 8 April 2010,saya dan suami telah ke Kuala Krai untuk menghadiri majlis anugerah pelajar2 cemerlang SMTKK. Majlis dijadualkan pada pukul 12 tgh yaitu selepas mesyuarat pibg.

Kami bertolak dari Pasir Puteh pada pukul 11:15pg...sampai di Keroh terasa kereta berat kekiri. MasyaAllah..tayar depan sebelah kiri telah pancit. Dibawah sinar matahari pukul 12 tgh,suami menukar tayar..nasib baik tayar spare ada angin. Selesai menukar tayar kami balik ke Pasir Puteh kerana majlis telah selesai. Dalam kelaparan kami berhenti makan di hadapan Hospital Machang.

Kami sampai di Canberra hampir pukul 8 malam. Persekitaran masih cerah seolah2 pukul 6 ptg di Malaysia. Jarak antara Sydney dan Canberra ialah 289km.

Cuti-cuti Australia... sydney..

Dari 1-14 February yang lalu saya telah berkesempatan melawat ke tiga bandar di Australia.Bertolak dengan penerbangan Air Asia pada 1 hb Feb @ 1:30 tgh dan sampai ke Melbourne pada pukul 12:20 tgh malam. Kami di sambut olih Pn Marsilla dan anakanda nya Hana.

Keesokan harinya kami menyewa kereta dan memulakan perjalanan/pengembaraan memjelajahi pantai timur Australia. Dari Melbourne ke Sydney jaraknya ialah 882km.Dari masa kemasa kami berhenti di pekan2 kecil disepanjang jalan.Antara pekan2 permandangannya ialah tanah gurun dan di penuhi lembu2 dan biri2.

Selepas dua hari di Sydney,kami meneruskan perjalanan ke Canberra.

KUALA LUMPUR, Dec 15 — Malaysians, especially the Malays, need to take up Mandarin as it has become an important language since China is now a world economic superpower, said Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Najib said learning another language would also enable a person to know better other individuals from different backgrounds, thus enabling them to respect each other more.

“Only when we respect and honour one another, we will become truly Malaysian,” he said at the Chong Hwa Independent High School’s 90th anniversary grand dinner here.

He said by learning Mandarin, the other races — especially the Malays — would be able to understand the Chinese better.

“It may be too late for me to learn Mandarin, but I hope to see more Malays learn the language in the future.

“My youngest son, Norashman Razak, who is currently studying at Georgetown University in the United States, is also taking Mandarin classes,” he said, adding that he was told his son would only be able to speak Mandarin fluently in four years’ time

“Maybe one day, I may invite him to give a speech in Mandarin.”

On Chinese independent schools in the country, Najib said the provisions in the Education Act 1996, formulated when he was education minister, guarantee the existence and growth of Chinese schools in the country.

Therefore, the community needed not worry, he added.

He said the government’s liberal policy towards education since independence was the main factor for the growth of Chinese independent schools, with Malaysia being the country in the region with the most number of Chinese schools and many of its people having a Chinese education.

“The existence and growth of schools using the students’ mother tongue as the medium of instruction is also the country’s strength and diversity.

“This shows that the Barian Nasional-led government is always liberal in weighing its policies; that outside China, Malaysia had the biggest number of Chinese-educated citizens.”

He said although the issue of whether Malaysia should have single or multi-stream education system was always debated, he believed the multi-stream was good in creating a society in diversity, where diversity was a strength and asset for the country.

Commending the success of Chong Hwa Independent School, Najib said the fact that Chinese parents were sending their children to the school showed that the community was committed and put high priority on education.

He said to date, there were 60 Chinese independent schools in the country.

Also present at the dinner were MCA president Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat, treasurer-general Tan Sri Tee Hock Seng, vice-president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, party Youth chief Datuk Wee Ka Siong and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Koh Tsu Koon, who is also Gerakan president. — Bernama

Mas kahwin RM300 bukanlah satu beban

PENETAPAN kadar mas kahwin di Selangor yang dinaikkan kepada RM300 daripada RM80 dan RM40 mungkin sepatutnya dilakukan lama dahulu. Ramai yang menyokong kadar baru yang ditetapkan oleh Jabatan Agama Islam Selangor (JAIS) serta mendapat perkenan Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah itu.
Bagaimanapun ada juga yang tidak bersetuju dengan keputusan JAIS tersebut. Antaranya ialah Menteri Besar Kelantan, Datuk Seri Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.
Beliau memberi alasan, peningkatan kadar mas kahwin itu boleh mengundang kepada ramai gadis menjadi "anak dara tua".
Sejauh manakah kebenaran dakwaannya itu? Benarkah kadar mas kahwin boleh menyumbang kepada peningkatan jumlah wanita yang tidak berkahwin?
Kadar yang ditetapkan oleh JAIS itu bakal berkuat kuasa tahun depan. Kadar lama telah pun berlangsung lebih 30 tahun sejak 1978.
Dalam tempoh 1978-2009 itu, fenomena wanita yang tidak berkahwin walaupun usia semakin meningkat, memang selalu diperkatakan. Banyak kajian dan hujah dikemukakan bagi mencari jawapan kepada masalah itu.
Adakah kadar mas kahwin menjadi faktor mereka tidak mendirikan rumah tangga? Rasanya ia tidak ada kena-mengena dengan soal itu. Banyak lagi faktor lain yang membuatkan mereka tidak berkahwin.
Antara jawapan paling lumrah didengar ialah "belum ada jodoh". Dan seperti pepatah "jodoh pertemuan di tangan Tuhan" maka ia pastinya tidak ada kena-mengena dengan soal mas kahwin.
Jika sampai jodoh, pastinya ada usaha untuk mencari jalan mencukupkan mas kahwin. Banyak yang boleh dilakukan ke arah itu.
Jumlah RM80 atau RM40 yang dikenakan di Selangor sebelum ini rasanya bukan satu bebanan. Tetapi masih ramai juga yang tidak berkahwin.
Kini JAIS menaikkannya kepada RM300. Kenaikan itu dibuat selepas mengambil kira pelbagai faktor. Sebagai sebuah agensi agama, JAIS pastinya tidak akan bertindak sekiranya kenaikan itu boleh membebankan.
Sekiranya seseorang lelaki itu ikhlas untuk berkahwin, jumlah RM300 bukan satu masalah. Lagipun segala-galanya memerlukan perancangan. Perkahwinan biasanya bukan dibuat secara tergesa-gesa.
Apa yang menjadi bebanan ketika ini ialah majlis perkahwinan dan segala macam hantaran untuk menjayakan majlis tersebut.
Namun jika pasangan berada dalam kategori tidak mampu, maka kenapa perlu mengadakan majlis yang membebankan?
Ikut sahaja cadangan Nik Aziz. Beliau mengaku tidak pernah meletakkan harga mas kahwin dan hantaran melebihi RM1,000 untuk anak-anaknya.
Bagi mereka yang mahu lebih berjimat, mungkin boleh mengadakan majlis yang lebih ringkas. Lupakan sahaja pelamin dan persalinan pengantin yang bernilai ribuan ringgit. Mereka boleh berjimat tanpa perlu mengupah jurusolek atau mak andam yang khidmatnya dikenakan bayaran yang tinggi.
Namun persoalannya sekarang ialah ramai yang mahu mengadakan 'kenduri terbaik' dan menjadi 'kenangan seumur hidup.' Maka pelbagai perancangan dan penambahan belanja diperlukan. Tidak salah kalau mampu. Namun jika tidak, jangan diikut kata hati. Ukurlah baju di badan sendiri.
Daripada trend semasa majlis perkahwinan, rasanya kadar mas kahwin yang ditetapkan oleh JAIS memang sangat munasabah.
Dan bagi anak-anak muda sekarang, rasanya RM300 itu juga bukan satu bebanan.
Ramai di kalangan mereka mampu memiliki kenderaan termasuk motosikal berkuasa tinggi. Topi keledar sahaja berharga ribuan ringgit. Itu tidak termasuk sarung tangan dan jaket kulit.
Mereka juga boleh memiliki telefon bimbit berjenama mahal dengan model terkini. Ia dipenuhi dengan pelbagai aplikasi. Jadi RM300 untuk berkahwin sememangnya bukanlah satu beban atau masalah besar.
Memang benar Nabi Muhammad SAW bersabda: "Sesungguhnya sebaik-baik wanita ialah yang paling ringan mas kahwinnya."
Dan mengikut nilai semasa, jumlah RM300 itu merupakan kadar yang sangat ringan jika dilihat pada konteks sebuah perkahwinan. Tetapi jika lebih mahal pun, apalah salahnya memberi sesuatu yang berharga kepada orang yang bakal menemani kita seumur hidup?

sripekan kata....kat kelantan mas kahwin biasanya sekarang antara RM8000-Rm10000, hantaran cuma barang spt beg tgn,kasut ,kek...etc....lepas kahwin wanita kelantan beli gelang sampai siku...simpanan masa depan....semua negeri sepatutnya mengikut kelantan...kenduri menjadi tanggungjawab ibubapa...buat ikut kemampuan ...jangan bebankan pengantin....

Majlis di kelantan akan sentiasa diingati kerana rumah dan jalan ke rumah pengantin lelaki telah dinaiki air berikutan hujan yang turun.
